What We Like about Sagan Life

Sagan Life is an Idaho company that has an admirable goal: To provide “safe, pure, healthy drinking water for camping, hiking, outdoor adventures, in case of emergency and especially for everyday use.” We first discovered Sagan Life when we were looking for a better way to transport water on extended camping trips. We’d tried a number of 5-gallon water containers and we were repeatedly underwhelmed. Enter Sagan Life’s Aquabrick. The Aquabrick is stackable, the lid and spigot never leak, it’s a better size (3 vs 5 gallon), and you can use them for food storage as well. Discovering the Aquabrick introduced us to the rest of Sagan Life’s catalog, which includes some of the most well designed water filtration systems we’ve ever used. Their Ultraflow system is designed to be used in conjunction with the Aquabrick. They also carry small, packable filtrations systems like the Journey Water Bottle and the Xstream Straw. Sagan Life filters have been certified to remove 99.99999% of all bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera, and E.coli as well as 99.99% of all parasites and protozoa, such as giardia, cryptosporidium, toxins, chemicals, and heavy metals. That’s some serious filtration! We really appreciate Sagan Life’s honest representation of their products. Many water filtration companies make bold claims but don’t deliver. Sagan Life uses independent labs to test all of their filters and they post all of the results on their website.
