TemboTusk Adventure Skottle Mini Grill Kit

Regular price $320.00

The Adventure Skottle is a mini version of the now-famous TemboTusk Skottle. It was designed with adventure cyclists in mind but it's also ideal for overnight canoe and kayak trips or even car camping when storage space it tight.

If you're unfamiliar with the skottle, think of a heavy-duty wok and you've got the basic idea. The Skottle is fabricated in the USA and comes pre-seasoned so it can be used immediately.

Here's what you need to know:

  • You can cook pretty much anything on a Skottle that you can cook on a traditional grill but you can also whip up scrambles, fried rice, and noodle dishes. In other words, the skottle pretty much does it all.
  • The Adventure Skottle is perfect for one or two people to cook on. More than two and the larger original TemboTusk Skottle is better.
  • TemboTusk pre-seasons each Skottle before shipping them, which means that they arrive ready to cook on.
  • The Adventure Skottle pan, legs, and carry bag are all made in the USA.

A note from Brian, Get Lost's founder:

Brian Meier, founder of Get LostThe Adventure Skottle was designed around the MSR DragonFly multi-fuel stove, which a great stove, but unless you're traveling to countries where canister gas might be tricky to find, I recommend using the MSR Superfly or buying this kit which includes the GSI Glacier stove. I've been using MSR stoves for nearly 30 years. The first one I bought still works like it's brand new. Bomb-proof and trustworthy. I lean toward the MSR stove because it checks three boxes that I find important: 1.) It works on the Adventure Skottle but it's also a killer backpacking stove; 2.) It's made in the US, which means something to me; and 3.) I'm familiar with the MSR brand and I trust it. However, the GSI Glacier stove is a far easier stove to use, which is worth considering. As for Skottles, I love them. I bought the larger version in 2016 and since then it's cooked up delicious meals from Alaska to Maine and plenty of places in between.

Choose the setup that works best for you:

We sell two different setups for the Adventure Skottle, so make sure that you choose the one that fits your needs. This set comes with a pre-seasoned grill pan, legs, a GSI Glacier Camp 10,000 BTU stove, a stove adapter, and a BlueRidge Overland carry bag.    *Carry bags will ship after July 15th.

Why buy a the kit? Aside from a fuel canister, the kit comes ready to go. The Glacier Camp stove that comes with the kit is incredibly easy to use and it's very reliable. For most people, the kit is the best option

Why buy a Skottle without a stove? For various reasons, some people prefer to use the Adventure Skottle with an alternate stove. The most popular alternate stove setup is the multi-fuel MSR Dragonfly stove, a proven workhorse that is popular in the adventure bike and hiking crowd. The Dragonfly attaches directly to the Skottle, which makes it an attractive option (no adapter needed).  Alternatively (with adapters sold through Tembo Tusk) you can use three additional stoves: The MSR Whisperlite International,  the Jetboil MightyMo, or the MSR-SuperFly Stove. If you're looking for an inexpensive option, we have heard that the Coleman single burner stove also works. This stoves isn't built as well as the stoves mentioned above, so we don't recommend this option.
